The firm

Partners who still open the file

Aurel was built by finance leads who had sat in the seat — and were tired of advice that arrived after the quarter had already closed.

Our story

A practice, not a processing shop

We opened on Commercial Quay with twelve client groups and a rule that still holds: the partner who scopes the work is the partner who signs it. Growth has not changed the file. It has only added specialists who can sit beside that partner without taking the relationship away.

How we work

What we will not trade away

Named accountability

Every engagement has a partner of record. You will not be handed between a sales desk and a junior pool once the letter is signed.

Numbers on time

A pack that arrives after the decision is decoration. We design the close so the board sees the month while there is still time to act.

Advice that lands

We write in the language operators use. If a recommendation cannot be run next week, it does not leave this office.

2009

Practice founded

Opened in Leith to serve owner-managed groups that had outgrown a sole practitioner.

4

Practice desks

Audit, tax, advisory and corporate finance — one letterhead, one partner meeting.

UK & EU

Where we file

UK groups with European subsidiaries, and inbound investors who need a local signatory.

Working file

You do not get a different story from tax, audit and advisory. We keep one set of numbers.

Inside the office

A room built for the working week

Partners still take first-year trainees through the close. The glass rooms on the quay are for client workshops, not for theatre. If you visit, you will sit with the people who already know your file.
